{"id":109932,"date":"2025-03-05T19:00:29","date_gmt":"2025-03-05T19:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/?p=109932"},"modified":"2025-03-05T19:00:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T19:00:33","slug":"paris-nice-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/in-depth\/paris-nice-preview","title":{"rendered":"Paris-Nice 2025 preview: Route, favourites, how to watch and start list"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Paris-Nice, nicknamed the Race to the Sun, is one of the biggest one-week stage races on the men\u2019s WorldTour calendar with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/in-depth\/tour-de-france-route-live-tv-guide-startlist-stage-by-stage\">Tour de France<\/a>\u00a0hopefuls using it to test early season shape or just to get into the swing of things once more. The 2025 edition returns from 9th-16th March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year\u2019s race was won by\u00a0Matteo Jorgenson by 30 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel. Stage 7 had to be altered with a different finishing point up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/in-depth\/nice-tour-de-france-cycling\">Madone d&#8217;Utelle<\/a> due to fears of snow at Auron, which will feature in the 2025 race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jorgenson will be back alongside leader Jonas Vingegaard and new teammate Victor Campenaerts. Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe are bringing Aleksandr Vlasov, winner of the shortened Stage 7 in 2024, while UAE Team Emirates XRG, victorious in the team time-trial last time out have the strong (and A flat stage with plenty of small lumps, there are three Category 3 climbs to scale with maximum 15% gradients, the last one coming just over 20km from the finish line.
